Yamaha have released a new firmware update (v1.10) for the Clavinova CVP-500 series that adds many network features that didn’t exist before. Wireless encryption standards WPA and WPS are now supported (encryption is to protect your information over a wireless network, requiring a password to login to your home network). Also a selection of wireless lan adapters are now added to the supported list.

In the latest edition of the Yamaha Club Magazine, it has been announced that both Glyn Madden and I (James Woodcock) have been working on a CVP-509 video that hopefully will be released as a free promotional DVD, which is presented by Glyn Madden with performances from James Sargeant and Glyn. This has also been edited and produced by James Woodcock. I have no information currently on exactly when and where this will be released, but as soon as I do I will post news about it for you all.

On the 19th January, I was invited to enjoy James Sargeant demonstrating two of Yamaha’s latest music instrument offerings courtesy of Roger Hagarty at Roger’s Music. These included the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509 digital piano and the PSR-S910 keyboard, which was held at Notts County Football Club. While I was there, I was able to provide live comments and capture photos which I added to an online website called Twitter. I have been using Twitter for quite some time as it provides a very convenient way of providing snippets of information covering your interests.

Recently I heard from Roger Hagarty that in his music store, he had just received the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509 and invited me to have a look and best of all record the audio demonstrations built into the digital piano.
